Communication and Speed/Innovation Possible solutionsOne of the problems that has emerged is that some of the older generations do not know how to use some of the technology that the younger generations know how to use. One solution is for their sons and daughters, even cousins teach them how to use it. Also they could take a course on the internet on how to work the technology. Also another problem is that countries that are poorer than the rest can not afford the technological updates. One way to get some of the updates to some of the higher parts of the country is for the united nations to raise money and help these countries get updated like the rest of us. A major problem in communication is that a lot of older people just don’t know how to use it. Or they don’t want to learn how to do it. They want everything to be like it was when they were young. Cell phones, email, IM, e-cards, etc. etc. They need to know how to use these! If their boss or someone important sends them a message, they need to know how to do access that information. To solve this problem, seniors need to get help! They could ask a younger member of their family to teach them how to use their electronic device. A teenager would be best for this J. There are courses online and at recreation/senior centers that they could enroll in too. Many problems have emerged when communication meets technology. Some examples of this could be how in countries where there is poverty, expensive technologies would be very hard to come by and many people could not afford these. A lot of solutions can help this problem, and our school does quite a bit for countries with problems like this. A possible solution would be for countries that have very little poverty (like canada) to help these poor countries by raising money for them, so they can afford more of these technologies. Another problem would be that some people (more often older people) do not know how to use these technologies. An example of this would be that my grandma has a hard time understanding how to use her TV, so a solution she has discovered is that my brother can come to her house, and give her helpful hints for remembering. People use cell phones to communicate with each other. They text more than actually talking to each other because it is easier, simpler, and more convenient. People also find texting to be less risky (socially). For example, if you say something you can take it back or change it, but in texting you can read over or edit it before sending. People also use other types of technology such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc. to instant message, edit profiles, add pictures/videos, and post comments. Email, blogs, and chat rooms are also useful technologies to communicate or entertain. These are all good ways to share information. |
